Moving through liminal spaces.
Sarah Moor an abstract painter and installation artist from Southern California. She moved from New York City to Sendai, Japan in 2014 after obtaining her BFA in drawing and painting from California State University Long Beach in 2013. Since then, she has exhibited work in Manila, Tokyo, Sendai, Orange County, and Nagoya, and has been building friendships with artists, musicians and other creative makers in Japan and abroad. She joined with Grace Center Church Sendai as a ministry intern and artist in residence in 2016, and taught visual art in the International Baccalaureate Program at Sendai Ikuei Gakuen. She is also part of Saddleback Visual Arts, the artist collective of Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, CA. Her creative practice is not just to make work, teach, or host events, but to give time to relationships in both the church and art community, and create a safe space for authentic dialogue, prayer and caring for her community in Japan. She is currently living and working in Aichi Prefecture, in the Tokai region of Japan.
